Wind Turbine in Chile

In March 2025, Goldwind Technology entered into a cooperation agreement with ENGIE Chile, providing 22 sets of GWH182-7.5MW wind turbines for its Pemuco Wind Farm. The project is located 47 kilometers south of Chillan City in Chile, with a total installed capacity of 165MW. It is the first wind farm in the Nuble region of Chile. According to estimates, after the project is put into operation, the green electricity generated will meet the electricity needs of 100,000 households in southern Chile and reduce carbon emissions by 40,000 tons annually. Chile has set a green development goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. By 2030, the proportion of renewable energy in the country's total power generation will reach 80%.

The GWH182-7.5MW wind turbine used in the Pemuco wind farm project is the largest single-unit wind turbine in this region. It is also the first 18x-level onshore wind turbine in the world to obtain DNV type certification, and has received the EPD Italy environmental product declaration (EPD) certification issued by ICMQ (Italian Quality Certification Institute). During its entire life cycle, each kilowatt-hour of electricity generated emits only 3.72 grams of equivalent carbon dioxide, which is approximately 0.45% of that of thermal power.
