"Partner with Deep Blue, and navigate the challenges together. LEOG Motors Supports Goldwind’s Successful Batch Installation of 16.2MW Offshore Wind Turbines"

Recently, 25 units of Goldwind's GWH266-16.2MW ultra-large-capacity offshore wind turbines have been successfully installed in batches in  Yangjiang, Guangdong. After connected to the grid, this fleet of "offshore giants" is expected to generate a total of 1.41 billion kWh of electricity annually, delivering a steady stream of green energy to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

In this journey toward the deep sea, LEOG Motors' self-developed 27.3kW LG2-160 series high-efficiency permanent magnet synchronous pitch motors, serving as the core drive units of the turbine pitch system, have safeguarded this batch installation with their stable and reliable performance.

The pitch system serves as the "neural center" through which a wind turbine senses and harnesses the wind. When a typhoon strikes, it must precisely adjust the blade angles under extreme loads to protect the turbine's safety. During normal operation, it must respond in milliseconds to coordinate with the control strategy, capturing the energy of every breath of wind.

The LEOG Motors 27.3kW LG2-160 series permanent magnet synchronous pitch motor is precisely built for this purpose. With its high efficiency, high power density, high reliability, and wide-ranging environmental adaptability, it confidently withstands harsh offshore conditions such as high salt spray, high humidity, and strong typhoons in the deep sea, making it a reliable choice for 16MW+ ultra-large-capacity wind turbines.

The partnership between LEOG Motors and Goldwind has spanned more than a decade. Over these years, we have witnessed China's wind power industry journey from onshore to the far-reaching deep sea—and this has also been a journey of mutual achievement and shared growth for both sides.

In terms of quality, LEOG Motors has maintained the highest rating for over a decade, having been named a "5A-rated Quality Credit Supplier" by Goldwind for ten consecutive years.

In terms of innovation, it has received Goldwind's "Technology Innovation Award," with its product portfolio evolving from the asynchronous MSVF series to the LG permanent magnet synchronous series. This includes the LG2-132, which is better suited for onshore wind turbines and has been upgraded from the second-generation model to the lighter LG3-132, as well as the LG2-160 series, which is more suitable for large offshore wind turbines. The product iteration pace has always been closely aligned with Goldwind's turbine upgrades.

In terms of green manufacturing, LEOG has been recognized as an "Outstanding Green Supplier" for multiple consecutive years, with 100% of the products supplied to Goldwind now powered by green electricity, reflecting the two companies' strong alignment in low-carbon philosophy.

In terms of delivery scale, to date, LEOG Motors has delivered nearly 60,000 pitch motors of various types to Goldwind, achieving complete supporting coverage across Goldwind's full range of turbine models.

"Since Goldwind's 16MW-class wind turbine made its debut in 2023, it achieved the first batch application of 16MW-class offshore wind turbines in China in 2024 at Zhangpu, Fujian. To date, Goldwind has fully grid-connected more than 45 offshore wind turbines of 16MW and above, with a cumulative grid-connected capacity approaching 750,000 kW. From Zhangpu to Yangjiang, from the first unit to batch deployment, LEOG Motors, in collaboration with Goldwind, is jointly safeguarding more ultra-large-capacity units in deep-sea and far-shore wind power projects."
